We were served the traditional mint tea and cookies as we waited in the sitting room of our riad for the check in process to finish. I loved this intricate tea set, along with the handkerchief, napkins, and plates. It wasn’t a matching set, and everything showed a bit of worn and fray, but it was that lack of “newness” that added a sense of true hospitality, as if we were welcomed into a home, and not just a place to sleep for the night.
