I wasn’t even a big LoTR fan before I went to New Zealand. Hobbiton wasn’t even in our itinerary. But our group got so close and since one person was really into LoTR, we all supported her and made an impromptu detour! The set was absolutely gorgeous and I was blown away by how much effort (and money) they put into making it. As CGI technology gets more sophisticated, sets like this will be a thing of the past.
Too bad these doors don’t actually open 😛
