Last X’mas, This X’mas

I know it’s still early, but over here Christmas is in the air. Starbucks already put on the Christmas CD, a three story tall tree decked with presents is the first thing you see when walking into the mall, and at school, the Japanese teachers are already starting to teach the kids Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. @_@

Of course I won’t be left behind, so I took out (or should I say downloaded ^_^”) my Christmas album too, and on a cold Sunday morning in Japan, all of the sudden it feels very homey and festive in my tiny little apartment 🙂

Come to think of it, I wasn’t home last Christmas either. Spent the better part of my winter vacation in New York and Orlando, and was unequally impressed by both. I still remember wandering around Downtown Disney and humming “Last Christmas,” to which I only knew the first two lines of. When you are happy, you can’t even make sad songs sad. Anyway, just heard that song again, so thought I’d make a note.

Even though Christmas is still a while away, I’m making my list and checking it a few times 🙂 Once upon a time I bought presents for everybody and their dog. I really don’t know what I was thinking then.

Current Listening: Last Christmas by Wham

Last Christmas I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I’ll give it to someone special

Once bitten and twice shy
I keep my distance
But you still catch my eye
Tell me baby
Do you recognize me?
Well, it’s been a year
It doesn’t surprise me
(Happy Christmas )
I wrapped it up and sent it
With a note saying “I love you”
I meant it
Now I know what a fool I’ve been
But if you kissed me now
I know you’d fool me again

A crowded room, friends with tired eyes
I’m hiding from you and your soul of ice
My god I thought you were someone to rely on
Me?
I guess I was a shoulder to cry on

A face on a lover with a fire in his heart
A man under cover but you tore me apart
Now I’ve found a real love you’ll never fool me again

A face on a lover with a fire in his heart
A man under cover buy you tore him apart
Maybe next year I’ll give it to someone
I’ll give it to someone special.
