It was one of our last nights in Iceland, and we were staying at this hotel that, on arrival, looked like the setting of a horror film. Not that it was old and decrepit, the building was actually gorgeous, but it sat by itself next to a lake, and looked just a bit eerie in the evening.
I forgot whether it was planned, but we got up early enough to capture the misty sunrise over the lake. After getting the perfect shots, we came back inside for some cocoa and breakfast, and watched the sun slowly creep up into the sky, bathing the dining room in a warm golden glow. A glimmer of light shone through the window at just the right angle for me to capture this final moment of serenity before heading home.
