357 | On the Road Together :: Sapporo, Japan, 2004

Before I went to Japan, I had never traveled with anyone but my parents, and definitely never traveled by myself. The second day after we landed in Osaka, Lucy convinced me to take me to Hiroshima with her, even though we had never even taken the train before. In that one short year, thanks to these two, I got to see so many different aspects of Japan, from exploring the concrete jungle of Tokyo to riding on my first snowboard in Sapporo. They showed me there is nothing to be afraid of, and there’s never enough time to see everything. Although my travel style has calmed down a bit since then, I always fondly look back on the days when we were so young and thirsty to see the whole world.
